Bali

I am going here for a family vacation in October to celebrate my brothers, and my birthdays! I am super excited since it’s been so long since last time we all went somewhere new for a vacation since we all have different schedules. The pictures above are of the villa in which we will be staying, and I am so excited to be there since, it looks beautiful! There will definitely come a video of my trip there after I go.

New York

New York is a place where I have only been to once, which feels like ages ago since I was in third grade at the time. I was there for New Years with my family but one of my brothers didn’t want to go… I remember how much I loved the shopping, haha. However, I am sure I would enjoy it even more now that I know most of the shops there better. I hope to travel there soon again.

Los Angeles

The last destination is somewhere I have always wanted to go. I could totally imagine myself walking down Rodeo Drive, and just feeling relaxed. Having the beach near, and being able to hike up to gorgeous views. I have a dream of going there sometime with my friends or family, it seems so dreamy. For those of you who are American, or live there, I probably sound ridiculous but consider this all for a typical Swede’s viewpoint… There is nothing better than a place where it is hot, haha (at least for me).

How to Cure Being Homesick

Homesick? Well, here are some tips that have gotten me through my times when I miss Sweden or Italy.

  1. Facetime a friend from the place you miss- Sometimes, you just need to talk to someone from the place you miss to tell yourself that you’re still close, just not in distance
  2. SNAPCHAT- This is my saviour! I think this is the perfect way to keep in contact just to see what your friends are doing although you aren’t with them. My go-to app!
  3. Look through old pictures- Sometimes you need a little deja vu, and I do this just to brighten up my days.
  4. Express your feelings- Let the people you miss know that you miss them/appreciate them. Also, don’t be afraid to cry or take a day just to recover from the homesickness. When I just moved to Japan, there was one day when I couldn’t go to school since I missed Italy so bad.
  5. Find things you enjoy in place you’re in- Try to distract yourself by what is great about the place you’re in

These were just my tips that I could come up with, but I am sure there are so many more out there. We all go through a time when we are a little homesick, or miss a place or someone, but eventually you get through. Perseverance is everything.

Mallorca 2K16

Hi! So, last Saturday I came back from Mallorca, and I still haven’t been able to get that trip off my mind. I just learned so much about life and people, which I think is fascinating. I love to learn in order to mature, and I felt as if the trip helped me once again mature, and forget about all the stress and self-hate I had before the trip. Anyways, this year I decided not to write about each day in detail. Instead, I will just show the video, and write a small intro.

Basically, I went to Mallorca, Spain for 9 days with Alex, Sol, Christian, Sil, and Anders, and we had an amazing time. Although we weren’t able to go to the beach due to different reasons, we were able to make the best of it. When I say “the best of it” I truly mean it. Sol, Christian, Anders, and I went hiking one day, and although we thought we would die, we survived and felt so healthy afterwards. We had many moments throughout the trip to just talk. I discovered so much more about each one of their personalities, and I am so thankful to have been able to go on this trip with them. Overall, I had a splendid trip and I hope all of the people who I spent it with agree.

Airport Delay?

At the airport in Copenhagen, and to my surprise, the flight to Barcelona is delayed… Yay!! (Sarcasm) it was supposed to leave 4:45 but instead it leaves 8:15. We are overjoyed to have extra hours here at the airport (sarcasm again). Consequently, the delay of the flight means that I can’t upload my blogpost that I planned since I don’t have my computer with me as a carry-on. I hope you will be okay with this… I will tell you 3 activities I want to do when I am in Barcelona.

  1. Go to PortAventura
  2. Visit Catedral de Barcelona (La Sagrada)
  3. Visit National d’Art de Catalonge

These activities would be so entertaining and mind opening. I would love to do these things and much more, but I would completely understand if it’s not feasible to complete all this in just a weekend. I will be taking outfit pictures each night so by Monday I will have an outfit post with all my evening outfits I wore in Barcelona ( which might only be two due to the fact that it’s a weekend trip…) However, I’m truly sorry that this post didn’t work out, but hope that’s ok.

Greenroom Festival ’16

IMG_5846IMG_5842IMG_5852IMG_5848IMG_5853

Hey! So, this Sunday, I went to the Greenroom Festival in Yokohama with Ebba. We took the train 9:06 in the morning, and arrived there at 12:34. The Greenroom Festival is basically a music, and arts festival which I had been looking forward to. I really love looking at art, and listening to different styles of music so I enjoyed it. Ebba and I really loved getting out of our little part of Japan so that we could spend one day without accidentally running into people, because sometime you just need some time alone. Sometimes it is a nice getaway. Anyways, I am not going to go into too much detail about the festival but here are some pictures:-)

Firenze

Italy!!! Beautiful, is all I can say about it. It is so wonderful to be here again and regain the memories. I went to school to visit today, and it was so different but entertaining. I was able to meet all my all my old friends, and I made a few more ones. It was super fun, and I hope they also think so.

Tonight, Lina arrived to Italy. Therefore, we went to dinner at a little Italian trattoria. It was really cute in a way. We sat there and ate food which was quite delicious. Then we walked to the duomo, and bought an ice cream to enjoy the street shows with.

I am so sorry my posts are boring this week, but I have been so busy with everything here, but I swear better posts will be posted. The internet sucks here though, so my YouTube video hasn’t been able to post… But keep yourself updated.

Sweden

Yup, I’m in Sweden!! I just thought you should see some of the things I am doing here, haha. It is so nice here for vacation! I love meeting my friends again. Being able to understand everyone even if you don’t know them. I love being able to understand all the signs that tell you where you are. It is so nice!

I got my nails done as well today. Extensions and French manicure. I love them! Totally recommend the nail salon here in Stockholm named CutieNails. I got mine done for my dad’s birthday party. I still haven’t found a dress which stresses me out. I will try to find one in Italy when I go there tomorrow. I am so excited!

I am sorry if this was a boring post but if you want to see something more entertaining, you can check my YouTube channel because a new video will be out. It is right now uploading.

Hawaii 2k16

 Day 1

Sitting there on the plane with my brother and mom, completely confused of what to expect for the vacation. All past vacations were with friends as well, so I didn’t know what expectations I should have. I didn’t want to be disappointed, even though there were so many amazing adventures ahead of me. I was finally going to Hawaii!

As we arrive at the hotel, we look out at the summer paradise. The hotel we were staying at was Sheraton Waikiki and it was beautiful. We checked in at 8 o’clock, but the room wasn’t ready so we walked around the streets in Waikiki. We decided to eat lunch at The Cheesecake Factory (which by the way has delicious shrimp with angel hair pasta). We walked around some more, until we found a hop-on-hop-off bus and we bought tickets and got on the bus just to look at the island of Honolulu. We then received our room in the Hotel, and got ready for dinner. The dinner was at PF Changs, which had good options, and I really enjoyed the food and service there. All in all, the first day was completed and ended up amazing.

Day 2

8:00 am, and it is already time to leave the hotel room. Diamond head was what we had planned to do in the morning. We get there and start hiking. A thing you may or may not know about me is that I LOVE hiking. I think it is a great way to just appreciate nature and kind of find yourself instead of following others. I just enjoy it a lot since nowadays, electronics are very usual to be on, so I take the chances to go outside as an amazing opportunity to be with nature. The view at the top was amazing, and the ocean looked beautiful.

After hiking, we drive around to find Hanauma Bay, which is super famous for snorkeling. Therefore, we go there to snorkel, but when we arrive, none of us really feel like snorkeling. We instead, lay by the beach and tan a bit. My brother then wanted to go to the hotel, so we drove back to Waikiki. We got ready for dinner, and ate at Red Lobster. Can I just say one thing? DELICIOUS FOOD!!!!!!

Day 3

Beach day:-) We drove around Oahu until we arrived at Lanikai Beach. Such nice weather, and wonderful time to get a tan. We relaxed by the beach until lunch time, which is when we decided to go to Taco Bell because my brother had never been before and I mean, it’s kind of a thing you NEED to try. I ate the cheese quesadilla because there weren’t a lot of options for me, but it was still delicious! After eating, we proceeded to drive around all of Oahu! This was just because we wanted to see everything:-) We saw the Dole Pineapple Farming as well, which was cool.

When we finally arrived to the hotel, we got ready for dinner. I wore a black maxi skirt with a black tank top to create the illusion that it was a dress. Apparently, I am not the only one with this outfit because that night, I think I saw about 13 people wearing the same outfit as me… I felt really basic but I mean, that means they have a good sense of style, haha. When we got home, it was time to sleep so we could wake up early the next day to be able to go see Pearl Harbor.

Day 4

5:00 is when I woke up, and we started heading towards Pearl Harbor. I was really excited due to the fact that I had seen the movie, and was interested in seeing how it was like. We started out by going to the Bowfin Submarine. It was so fascinating to see how everyone lived back then. We then continued to the Missouri Boat, which was HUGE! I started to think about how it must’ve felt as the people on the boat when they were being bombed. We then got on a small boat to take us to the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial. It was breathtaking. I couldn’t even imagine being in the boat as it slowly sank. The panic going on in the heads of the brave men in there. It was very devastating to actually see the place where something so tragic occurred, but it was insightful.

We went back to the hotel room, and got ready to go to Ala Moana Mall. We went around, and found a bikini top, and a water bottle for me from VS and PINK, two shirts from Brandy Melville, and a bunch of products from Bath & Body Works. I was so satisfied with everything that I received. We then ate dinner at the food court, and I ate Panda Express which I think I got food poisoning from so… I mean… just saying. Then we went home and went to bed.

Day 5

Relaxing. I stayed by the pool until 12:00, and I listened to podcasts. I have four I recommend, for Swedes; Mathilda och Andreas Blogpod, and Frida Podden. Meanwhile, for English speaking people; Women Of The Hour by Lena Dunham, and Myths and Legends Podcast. All of these are amazing, and I listen to them so much because I learn a lot. We then go eat at The Cheesecake Factory again, and then start heading towards Blue Hawaii Helicopters. OMG! We were going on a helicopter around Oahu! It was amazing and so cool! I definitely think that it is something to try, and I loved seeing it so much:-)

We continued home, and then we ate dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. It wasn’t a very long dinner because when we finished eating, we were all pretty tired and exhausted since we hadn’t gotten a lot of sleep. We continued home, and went to sleep to be able to manage waking up early again the next morning.

Day 6

Last day:-( We wake up early and start driving towards the place where we were going to scuba dive and parasail. We get on the boat with about six other people, and we start heading towards the place with the turtles. My brother, mom, and I were in one group but my mom was taking too much time so she didn’t want my brother and I to only get a little time, so she decided to just snorkel instead. My brother, another girl, and I ended up being in one group. We saw so many turtles, and it was so fascinating to see all the fish and creatures in the water. I have always been a fan of being in the water, and this was just one of the many ways I can have fun in water.

After scuba diving, a boat picked us up from the boat we were on, and drove us to the parasailing boat. We got in the equipment to parasail, and then we sat down on the edge, and all of a sudden we were in the air. It was so cool, I could feel the wind in between my toes, and it was just so relaxing. We were so high up, and we could see the whole area around us (which was quite large). When we got down, it was time to head to the car again, so another boat picked us up and helped us get to the dock again.

We then went to the room and got ready for dinner. I was actually meeting a friend, Jayson, that used to go to the same school as me here in Japan. He was in sixth grade in Japan, then he moved to Hawaii, so we planned to meet at Ala Moana. We met at 4:30 pm, and got some TasteTea Bubba, which I really ended up liking. We caught up so much, and I am so thankful that I had the chance to meet him again since I missed him. I got some ice cream as well, and he got fries and chicken or hamburger, I do not know… Anyways, it was so nice to hang out with him.

My mom then picked me up and took me to the dentist which is where my brother, Patrik was. He had a huge pain in his tooth, so he went to the dentist and had to pull out his wisdom tooth. I felt so bad because it hurt so badly for him. After that, we all went home because nobody was really hungry, and we just went to sleep because the next day, we were flying back to Japan. Hawaii was so beautiful, and I am so satisfied and happy that I had the chance to experience all of these adventures! Hopefully you enjoyed this post:-)

Things I hope To Do In Honolulu

 I am in Hawaii!! Here are some things that I wanna get to do when I am here and some things I already have done so far;

  1. Hike Diamond Head- SUCH a beautiful view!
  2. Go to Ala Moana mall- So many shopping options, and I am excited to go before all the stores have closed, haha.
  3. Paragliding- Fun adventure which I hope that my brother and I can do together.
  4. Scubadiving- Doing on Thursday with my mom and brother.
  5. Pearl Harbour- Great experience but a tip is to wake up early so you get tickets to go there.
  6. Get on the tour bus- Well, I basically just got on any bus that had an open roof so I could see Honolulu from the top of the bus, haha.

Those were just some adventures I want to do here in Honolulu, and as you can probably tell by the horrible quality photos, haha. The reason why it’s going to be horrible quality pics from my phone is due to the fact that I forgot my camera at home… Which I am sooooo upset about, but there is nothing I can really do about it… Haha… Anyways, hope you enjoy.

XOXO,

G
