Brothers, and Next Week

SO EXCITED! Next week, my youngest brother (21 years old), Patrik, is coming to Japan (he is the one that is in the selfie…)! In exactly a week when I get home from softball at this time, he will be here waiting for me:-) That’s one thing I love about not being able to meet your siblings all the time, you appreciate it more when you finally meet. The reason he is coming is because him, my mom, and I are going to Hawaii next Saturday, so you can expect a post about that after the trip! I am so sorry that this is going to be a boring post, but I have to take more pictures because right now I don’t have any new pictures taken or specific ideas for blog posts. I will try to find some better ideas, I swear. Anyways, sorry for the past weeks about how boring my posts have been. I promise I will get better as soon as I take some more pictures:-)

2015 in Review

Thank you all so much, throughout this first year of blogging for me:-) I literally love all of you! The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 4,400 times in 2015. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 4 trips to carry that many people.

New Years Outfits (Guest Blogger)

Hey everyone!

With new years coming up, I thought it would be really fun to team up and post some new years eve outfits.

My first outfit

I’m keeping it all smokey with this one, I love the look of dark grey silver and dark black. The look of completely smoked out clothing paired with a smokey eye makeup would look amazing.

Second outfit

This outfit looks very winter to me, I just love the light blue sequin dress paired with silver, it looks snowy and beautiful. A perfect outfit for new years eve!

Of course, sticking with a classic all black outfit for New Years. Classic black pumps with a silver bag to accent. It’s classic and so beautiful!

I’m loving this outfit! I kind of want to wear it myself. I love the black and silver on the dress paired with nude shoes. The blush and gold of the bag contrasts it and just brings it all together. It’s absolutely beautiful and also makes a statement. Can’t get better then that.

I really hope you guys enjoyed reading this! It was so fun to put it together. I hope it inspires some of you for your outfits.

Thanks all for reading!

Ideas for Celebrating the Holidays

My grandma and I last Christmas.

There are many ways to celebrate the holidays, whether it’s with family, friends or alone. Therefore, I decided to share some ideas of how to celebrate.

  1. Secret Santa- If you have a group of friends that want to give each other gifts for the holidays (mostly Christmas in this case) you can make it a little more exciting by not knowing who is giving who gifts. My friends and I did it both this year and last year, and it was so exciting because we didn’t know who got each other.
  2. Have a party of some sort/ get-together- In our school we usually have a christmas themed school dance towards the end of school in December so that is our form of party to celebrate. It is a great way to gather a lot of your friends and just enjoy.
  3. Decorate your house- Okay, I have a thing for decorating for any occasion! I have a tradition with my grandpa to plant plants and decorate the pot, then put them a little all over the house. It is a great time to talk with someone and get the holiday spirit.
  4. Play a family game- My family and relatives always play a game we call “Present Game” and everyone brings a gift for about $30, and nobody knows whats in each wrapping. Then you take turns rolling the dice, and each time you roll a 6 you can steal a gift or take one from the pile in the middle. After one minute, you stop and you get the gift that you have at the time.
  5. Play bingo with friends/family- The night before Christmas, my family sits on the couch and plays bingo and eats sandwiches. It doesn’t seem like much, but just creating a tradition to spend time with your loved ones means a lot.
  6. Go present shopping- I usually go shopping with Lina for christmas, but sometimes I go alone. It is so nice to really do something for others, it doesn’t need to be bought. Just giving to others is what makes me happy.
  7. Watch Christmas or Hanukkah movies, anything you find to be holiday like- Just watch anything that really puts you in a holiday spirit. Some of my favorite Christmas movies are Elf, Love Actually, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and Rudolph The Red nosed Reindeer. However, my friend, Jack, played a part in the Christmas and Hanukkah movie called “Switchmas” but also known as “Ira Finkelstein’s  Christmas” so I definitely recommend that movie as well.
  8. Just enjoy the holidays by relaxing!

Holly Jolly Christmas Tag

The song above is probably my favorite Christmas because the words never fail to touch my heart and really make me think. This music video is my favorite, but the original song is from Kelly Clarkson I think. I just want to share what wonderful song this is because it is underappreciated but it’s words are so meaningful!

This post is about Christmas, and I am sorry if you don’t celebrate Christmas and you don’t find this interesting but I hope you enjoy anyways.

1. Favorite Christmas Movie? How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and Elf or Polar Express
2. Are you on the Naughty list or the Nice list? I hope I am on the nice list…
3. Show us an embarrassing Christmas photo. IMG_0149.JPG This isn’t from Christmas, but I couldn’t find any so this was a horrible picture from the 23rd last year.
4. Have you ever had a White Christmas? I celebrate Christmas in Sweden so… yes.
5. Do you start your Christmas shopping on Black Friday or wait until the last minute? I do a little of both, but I usually wait till the week before so I can go shopping with my best friend in Sweden, Lina.
6. If you could be in any Christmas movie what would it be? I would want to be in Rudolf The Red-Nosed Raindeer; The Movie because it was my favorite movie when I was a kid (like 4-7)
8. Name all of Santa’s reindeer. Okay, I am actually going to try without looking so; Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolf… Did I miss any?
9. When does your family put up your Christmas tree and who decorates it? Well since we live in a different location than where we celebrate, we put one up in Japan the first week of December, and in Sweden we put it up about a week or so before Christmas.
10. Is your Christmas tree real or fake? In Sweden it is real, and in Japan it is fake.
12. Peeking at gifts or be surprised? SURPRISED! I love not knowing what I am getting because it makes me feel more excited.
13. Show us your ugly Christmas sweater if you have one. I actually don’t have one… Sorry
14. If you could be under the mistletoe with anyone who would it be? Haha, Zac Efron or Jensen Ackles… Or Ian Somerhalder.
15. Does your family have a special holiday recipe you like to help make? Not really, but we do make Swedish meatballs but I can’t eat those anymore (since I am pescetarian…)
16. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably? I fail at wrapping so I ask stores to help… Haha…
17. Have you ever gone Christmas caroling? Not really, but I sang in a choir every year in Italy (6 years) and I still do in Japan.
18. What tops your tree? A big golden star.
19. Do you make New Years Resolutions? Do you stick to them? I usually have New Years Resolutions to stop biting my nails, be more healthy, and work for better grades. I stick to most of them, but of course it is hard to be consistent in some cases…
20. You have been granted one Christmas wish…what will it be? Okay, I am going to be really cheesy, but that there would be peace in the world we live in today.

Missing Her♡

Ok, only some people will have any idea about who the dog in this picture is. This is and was my dog Chanel. Unfortunately, she was run over by a car three years ago in August. I was distraught. I remember crying so much and to be honest, I still miss her because although she was rude to me at times, she was like my sister. I know it sounds ridiculous to people who haven’t lost a pet because it just seems impossible to understand the feeling. I still remember exactly how everything happened and that is the most horrible experience, seeing her on the road. The picture above was taken from the year she died, I was just going into 6th grade that Summer, so this was taken in 5th grade and Chanel was only turning three years old that summer. I just miss my “sister”… I would talk to her when I was home alone and scared and pretended that she understood. I just have so memories with her. All the cuddles when she had just woken up and when I was sick she would come and lay next to me. I wish she was here so I could talk to her again, like I used to.

A Little Bit Of Everything

IMG_3562IMG_3523IMG_3552So its been a while since I really wrote on my blog about my life, so I thought I would just update everyone. Okay, there are a lot of amazing things happening in my life right now. As many people know, I am in the student body council in my school as a leader for a fundraiser called Thai Kids. It is about helping children in Thailand receive education, and each year a few of the eighth graders travel to Thailand to distribute the scholarships/money raised. Anyways, I was one of the students who was chosen to travel with some others and a teacher. I am super thankful because although it will be super eye-opening, it will probably also be an unforgettable trip and I will learn a lot. I have been working really hard to raise the money for them because it is such an important cause.

Recently, I have also been busy working for a choir concert that we had at my school and I think I did a great job with the help of the teacher and my friends who I was singing with. I sang one piece with Jiwoo, which was “Take A Bow” by Rihanna. I also sang a piece with Philippa and Ja Yeon, “Can You Feel The Love Tonight?” from Lion King. I think the whole concert was very successful and everyone did an amazing job!

I have also recently had a lot of summative assignments because it’s almost time for Winter break! So excited! I am going to Sweden and I can’t wait till I am with all my friends there and just catching up. I can’t wait to see my brothers! Not seeing your brothers in six months, is very hard for those who didn’t know… Especially since we don’t normally text because of age and time difference.

Although, there are wonderful things happening in my life, there are sad things as well. I just am getting more sad as Summer comes because I know a lot of my friends are going to move. I should be used to it by now since it has been 8 years almost of going to international schools, and people leave every year. However, it is the worst feeling each time, especially if it’s someone you are super close with or if it’s multiple of your best friends… That is the feeling I am expecting so I get sad every once in a while thinking about my friends moving.

So, that was a little update on my life and what has been going on. I think I am going to start posting consistently again soon. I am super sorry for always taking time, but it is quite hard to think of what to post but there are some exciting posts that you can be expecting 😉

10 Things That Make Me Happy

Since Fall is usually the time of the year when many people become stressed and depressed because of the weather, I decided that I wanted to share some things that make me happy during this time of the year. When I say this, I don’t mean family, friends and stuff like that, I mean some activities/actions that really help me realize the beauty of Fall.

  1. Making smores- I think that this is a great thing to do with a friend and just talk, although you get tired of marshmallows afterwards…
  2. Lighting a nice scented candle- This both helps you relax, and it smells amazing!
  3. Bringing tea to school- I have been doing this the past weeks and it is the BEST feeling ever to drink tea while sitting in your first periods of the day, and just relaxing.
  4. Making a list and crossing things our from it- I have many lists (homework, wishlists, and todo lists) and I love writing them so I know I haven’t forgotten anything, but I also love crossing the things out because its a feeling accomplishment.
  5. Biking to school/work early in the morning- Just listening to all the birds, and sounds of nature, and using this time to just think for yourself.
  6. Falling asleep to soothing music- It makes you feel safe and you can dream yourself away.
  7. Birthdays- I don’t know why but I get overly excited for both mine and other peoples’ birthdays!
  8. Helping others- I love seeing the happiness I can bring to others, and I am right now trying hard to help Thai kids receive education:-)
  9. Making new friends and learning about them- I love making new friends and just talking to them. I can talk for hours with people and especially if they are very talkative so we even each other out.
  10. Going shopping- I love just picking out different things that I want, even though I may not end up buying it, I like having the option to buy it.

Haha, okay so I guess that was ten things that make me happy and there are definitely more, but I’ll save those for another time. Anyways, have a great day and I hope you try or already do some of these things because maybe they can help you become happier as well.
