Things I hope To Do In Honolulu

 I am in Hawaii!! Here are some things that I wanna get to do when I am here and some things I already have done so far;

  1. Hike Diamond Head- SUCH a beautiful view!
  2. Go to Ala Moana mall- So many shopping options, and I am excited to go before all the stores have closed, haha.
  3. Paragliding- Fun adventure which I hope that my brother and I can do together.
  4. Scubadiving- Doing on Thursday with my mom and brother.
  5. Pearl Harbour- Great experience but a tip is to wake up early so you get tickets to go there.
  6. Get on the tour bus- Well, I basically just got on any bus that had an open roof so I could see Honolulu from the top of the bus, haha.

Those were just some adventures I want to do here in Honolulu, and as you can probably tell by the horrible quality photos, haha. The reason why it’s going to be horrible quality pics from my phone is due to the fact that I forgot my camera at home… Which I am sooooo upset about, but there is nothing I can really do about it… Haha… Anyways, hope you enjoy.

Spring Break Tips+Tricks

IMG_5259IMG_5302

OH YAY! It’s finally getting warm enough out here to wear a dress! I am so excited, haha! Anyways, I thought I would share a few tips+tricks into having a good spring break.

  1. You don’t actually need to have a bunch of friends to go with. I am going to Hawaii with my mom and brother, and I am going to have fun even though my friends aren’t coming with me.
  2. Find different adventures. When we go to Hawaii, we are actually looking at going paragliding, scuba diving, visiting Pearl Harbor, and much more. Try to find new experiences.
  3. If you aren’t going anywhere outside of your hometown, you can try to experience your city from a different perspective. Go out and pretend you’re a tourist, and kind of just find experiences within your city.
  4. Pack light. I make the mistake to pack a lot, but lets be honest… you have like one bikini that you love the most, and one pair of shorts, and you can mix-and-match a lot.
  5. Don’t go overboard on the make-up. Your face needs time to breath so when I go on beach vacations, I always only do my eyebrows. It is just so nice not to have to put on make-up.
  6. Videotape your trip to see how awesome your experience was! I do this now all the time! It is a great way to document your memories.
  7. HAVE FUN! Live your life to the fullest and just relax!!!

Brothers, and Next Week

SO EXCITED! Next week, my youngest brother (21 years old), Patrik, is coming to Japan (he is the one that is in the selfie…)! In exactly a week when I get home from softball at this time, he will be here waiting for me:-) That’s one thing I love about not being able to meet your siblings all the time, you appreciate it more when you finally meet. The reason he is coming is because him, my mom, and I are going to Hawaii next Saturday, so you can expect a post about that after the trip! I am so sorry that this is going to be a boring post, but I have to take more pictures because right now I don’t have any new pictures taken or specific ideas for blog posts. I will try to find some better ideas, I swear. Anyways, sorry for the past weeks about how boring my posts have been. I promise I will get better as soon as I take some more pictures:-)

Ideas For What To Do When Bored

A historical park that I went to in Thailand

So, we all get bored at times, but we deal with boredom in different ways. Some may decide just to sleep, and some go outside and find adventure. Since I have a lot of experience in the department of being bored (sarcasm), then I thought I would share some ideas of what you can do when you’re bored. This is what helps me, so I am not certain it will help anyone else, but give it a try.

  1. Go out on a walk- I have found myself taking a lot more walks recently because it is such a relaxing way to get out in nature. You can do this with or without a friend. When I walk without a friend, I sometimes decide to find a quiet sitting place in nature and just write or draw because it soothes me.
  2. Go to the grocery store- This may seem very ridiculous, but when I get bored I sometimes go to the grocery store to see what I might want to eat later for breakfast or snack, and I kind of explore the different foods to see if I find something new.
  3. I search up events- I find myself doing this at times where I just want to find something different to do one weekend, so I’ll search up festivals I can go to. For example, I found a festival called Greenroom that I am persuading my parents to let me go to with Ebba.
  4. Decorate and clean your room- To be honest, I don’t find myself cleaning my room often unless it is organizing my make up table which I do while cleaning it. However, this is a great way to pass time, and in the end you will be satisfied with what you did.
  5. Go to the gym- I know this may be hard for some of you who can’t go to the gym due to age restrictions, but you can still go exercising in nature. I personally like the gym, but it’s up to you.
  6. Stalk someone- Yes, we all do it… When I get super bored, I tend to investigate further on people’s facebook walls, haha. I know that everyone does it so don’t pretend that you don’t, haha! It is really fun if you find out something new about the person, but just make sure not to accidentally like their pic from 167 weeks ago…
  7. Bake- It is a great way to pass time in a fun way, and in the end you can have something to treat yourself with.
  8. Visit a museum or historical park- This is actually quite fun. I used to hate museums and historical parks but now I find the fascinating… well, it depends… It is a great way to learn while passing time though, and it would be great quality time with a friend.
  9. Homework- I hate to be the person who says this, but homework is such an important thing to get done, and you might as well do it when you are bored already. It’s a productive way to spend your time.

All in all, I hope you enjoyed these tips, and I hope you try some of them. They are really fun to do for me, and I hope they will be for you too.

What Happened To Society?

IMG_3608IMG_3730IMG_3604IMG_3727

So, I wasn’t planning on writing this, but my scheduled post had broken down, so I decided now would be a good time to post this. I know I am going to get so many questions asked by my mom and dad, but I just think that I have to say some things to be honest to my readers. I just needed to share this because hopefully it will help many people understand the flaws of society, and not of themselves.

I have always been insecure about my body. Ever since I remember, I have always looked at my body with hatred because I couldn’t accept that everyone has flaws. I know everyone thinks about themselves this way but I also know, this is a horrible feeling. Why do we feel so insecure about our bodies? Is it because society has an ideal body image? I always see these beautiful models on all my social media, and I am not going to lie, I always feel this frustration about why I am not as “fit” as them. I grew up in a house where my parents would always talk about which diet they were going to try, and how they wanted to lose weight. I am just now starting to realizing, that may be one of the reasons why I was so aware of the ideal body at such a young age. I remember how at one period of my life, I ate more than my older brothers, because I had such a large appetite. When I realized that this was an issue, I went on a diet for about two years. I was in fourth grade.

When I got into sixth grade, I finally felt good about my body. That is until I moved to Japan. I saw how skinny everyone else was, and felt as if I didn’t fit in. I know that it’s not healthy to think that way, but I couldn’t help myself. I was comparing myself to others. When I lived in Italy, I had never heard what a thigh gap was. However, when I came to Japan, it seemed as if everyone wanted one because that is what determined if you were skinny or not. Which, for the record, is not true at all. It has to do with which body type you have, and your bone structure. I, of course, believed everyone and kept a thigh gap in mind each time I took a picture, and pushed my legs apart to create the illusion of having thinner legs. Can you believe that a 6th grade did that? That is horrifying! All because of society’s ideal body image.

I am not the only one who feels this way. According to DoSomething.Org, “Approximately 91% of women are unhappy with their bodies and resort to dieting to achieve their ideal body shape. Unfortunately, only 5% of women naturally possess the body type often portrayed by Americans in the media.” This is the real horrifying news. Can you believe what our society has done to some of these people’s minds? To MY mind? People always say, “It’s the inside that counts,” but if we see all these things on the internet about being a specific size, then of course, we may not believe that the inside is the only thing that counts.

Let me tell you something, all our bodies are different. I have a different body shape than Ebba, and Jiwoo, so I shouldn’t compare myself to them because we were built differently. So, what am I really trying to say in this post? Well, I hope all you people who are insecure, go on a path with me to find confidence in your own skin. I am still trying to find that but that doesn’t mean I don’t love anything about myself right now. I love my cheerfulness every morning. I love my ability to smile, when I feel the worst. I love my positiveness. I love the people I chose to surround myself by. I love my ability to tell my true friends, from fake ones. I love the way, I don’t care if I embarrass myself in front of hundreds of people. I love my curves and lips. But most of all, I love me enough to know that I want to make a change.

Coachella Lookbook 2K16

IMG_5237Coachella is coming up soon!!! ARGH!!! April 15th is the start of the first weekend. I am unfortunately not going, but I am in love with Coachella. I really want to go, but I am so far away… Anyways, I gathered two more people; Ebba, and Ebba, haha. One is the Ebba that you all know, and the other Ebba is her best friend who is visiting from Sweden. Just have to say, it is 43 degrees fahrenheit here, when we took the pictures so I mean, you have to give us credit for this, haha.

So, the first look will be shown by Ebba. She is wearing her Brandy Melville dress with a floral pattern. Since it’s super hot at Coachella because it is in the desert, then a dress would be very comfortable but still gives a breeze kind of. She then paired this with her white shoes, and flower earrings. She is wearing two flash tattoos, both from Bershka, and if you want to see how much they were, you can check my last post by clicking here. Ebba then wore her black H&M triangle bikini, because as I said, Coachella gets warm, and it may be more comfortable with a bikini. All in all, this outfit looks very nice, and more formal than usual Coachella outfits.

The second look will be shown by the other Ebba. She is wearing a Bershka crop top with a pair of black shorts from Volcom, and a pair of white sneakers. Ebba is the one with the hand to the left (blue rings), and this goes great with her outfit and her Forever21 necklace. She went for a yellow, strapless bikini from H&M as well. Since her outfit is black and white, she paired it with more colorful jewelry like I said above. She also applied two flash tattoos from Bershka, to make it more Coachella themed. All in all, this outfit looks so good, and I love how the flash tattoos just put the whole outfit together.

The last outfit will be shown by me, haha. I paired my floral croptop from H&M, with a pair of high waisted shorts from Forever21 and green Stan Smith Adidas shoe. They go very well together because they give off a very boho look. The crop top is actually from last years Coachella line at H&M (I was obsessed with Coachella last year). I wore a pink and orange bikini from New Yorker (to see haul of that bikini, click here). I paired my outfit with a pair earrings from Bershka, and cateye, black sunglasses from Forever21 because your sunglasses will probably break, so I would only bring cheap ones. I also have two flash tattoos, one by my collar bone and one on my wrist, shown above (picture of second outfit, and I am the hand to the right). The flash tattoos didn’t quite stick out for my outfit but they look good anyways. In conclusion This outfit looks very rocker-chic but still a bit boho, and I am very satisfied with how it turned out in the end.

Anyways guys, I hope you enjoyed this post because I was actually very excited to write this lookbook. I just love Coachella, and wish I could go so bad!!! Hope you have a nice day.

XOXO,

G
