So as you can probably tell by the pictures above, I went shopping this weekend. Jiwoo and I went to a place here in Japan, and I bought some stuff for an upcoming blog post;-) That is the reason why I am only showing the two things on, because the rest will be for the next blog post. Anyways, I just have to say that I am in LOVE with the dress from H&M. I usually don’t wear a lot of dresses, but I am so in love with this one. I think it makes me feel confident, and so does the skirt. I think they are more for formal occasions because of the material that it’s made of.

Also, the things from Amazon were ordered about one week ago, and I am already becoming obsessed with the coloring book. I colored so much yesterday to help relieve my stress, and just to relax. I still have one thing that’s supposed to arrive but it’s from another store. It is just a wall decal with a cute saying so I can put it on my wall. I am super excited for that to arrive so I can finally organize my room’s walls. I love decorating my room, so it gives me satisfaction to know I have something to decorate it with, haha. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this quick post, and that you get excited for my Thursday’s post because I have something really fun planned.

XOXO,

Tips and Tricks for Stress

IMG_5133IMG_5164

Stress is one of your worst enemies. It could be caused by work or personal problems or if you’re fighting with your friend. There are many different reasons for stress. It is important to know that there is always another option and a way out of something. Whenever you feel stressed, take a deep breath and think about something that calms you down. Ways to deal with stress are: think of why you are stressed and try to fix the root cause, talk to someone you trust, relax, and treat yourself.

  1. Find out why you’re stressed- Finding out why you are stressed and how you can cope with it is hard. But finding the root cause will make it all easier. However, think positively and know there is always something you can do. If your first choice doesn’t work, try the second and so on. If you are stressing about work that you have to do in a week, plan ahead and organize your time so you do a little each day. Ask yourself if this is a repeatable pattern and you need to change your behaviors and planning. If you are fighting with someone, call him or her up and apologize and talk it out. It is always a great idea to solve the problem that you are having by thinking about the positive outcomes if you decide to deal with the problem. All in all, knowing what you are solving could be an advantage when dealing with stress.
  2. Talk it out- Talking to someone you trust is one of the best things you can do while stressed. Weather it’s a parent, friend, or adult, they usually give you advice. They might even help you out. Also, you are letting out your stress when you share it with someone, this since you don’t keep it all for yourself. If you don’t feel comfortable telling your friends, parents or close adult, try therapy. Therapists are specialized at giving advice to people.

If a person causes your stress, call them and tell them you need to talk to them. This is a way to handle your stress right on and it will help you feel relieved. However, if it is caused by anything else, it might be harder to talk it out. Stay open to all advice that you might receive from others and thank them for listening. Overall, talking to a trustworthy person usually helps reduce stress the most.

  3. Relax your body- Relaxing your body when you’re stressed is one of the best treatments and normally results in you feeling really good. There are many ways for you to relax your body, one of them being taking a bath and just breathe. This will make you clean and you can have your own peaceful time just to think. You can also meditate or do yoga, which makes you relax all your muscles, and you clear your mind. When you meditate or do yoga, you breathe deeply and this helps you relax your mind and thoughts.Another way to relax would be to listen to music. Different kinds of music help you in different ways. Such as, when you want to feel alert you should listen to faster music. However, upbeat music makes you feel positive and optimistic about life. Meanwhile, if you want to relax your muscles, and make yourself feel soothed, you can listen to slow tempo music. Therefore, listening to music helps you deal with stress the way you would like it to. You can tailor it to your own needs. If you just can’t seem to relax, try to sleep. When you are sleeping you disconnect from your stress and you are in dreamland and can forget what is happening in your real life. Many people can’t get to sleep when they are stressed, if this is the case then you should take a deep breath and turn off your lights and try to sleep, try to think of something positive like a positive memory from the summer holiday. When you have gone to sleep your body will be relaxed. All in all, whenever you are stressed, the best solution is to just relax your body.
  4. Treat yourself with food- Many people can’t get to sleep when they are stressed, if this is the case then you should take a deep breath and turn off your lights and try to sleep, try to think of something positive like a positive memory from the summer holiday. When you have gone to sleep your body will be relaxed. All in all, whenever you are stressed, the best solution is to just relax your body. One delicious snack you can still eat is dark chocolate. This helps your brain function. Many people don’t understand how food impacts your life at all times. They know what will increase weight or decrease weight but they usually have no idea what other impacts some foods can have on you. Therefore, they eat what they find because they don’t know what difference it makes. The food intake matters a lot though and if you don’t eat the right foods while stressed, it increases the level of stress you had and it can lead to a heart attack. In conclusion, eating foods that are healthy will help reduce your stress tremendously.Reduce Stress!

Stress is very painful and annoying but there are many ways to solve it. The reasons behind stress can be several and it’s normally exhausting and tiring. Please, follow the recommendations in this leaflet. These steps will help reduce the stress you are feeling. Stress can be one of the most annoying feelings in the world because you feel like nobody understands you. Even though you might be going through a tough time, and you are stressing, remember that you are the only one who can do something about it. It’s normally manageable and people are prepared to help and be there for you. It’s possible to reduce the horrible feeling of stress.

So I have said this before, but I get really attached to different places, and trips that I have taken. I know it may seem ridiculous but it just seems to me that I miss all the places a little TOO much! I replay the memories in my head over and over because they make me feel alive. I just get such a great feeling remembering the fun I had and especially how my friends all were there. I realized that the places I miss the most, are the ones where I have met new best friends, or have old best friends with me because they make me smile every second of the trips. The trips that pop up the most in my head are from my camp called Hälleviks Lägret, two places I went this Summer called Punta Ala and Mallorca, a place I went during the Fall called Ishigaki, and where I went last month, Thailand. The pictures above are my favorites from each one of the trips/places, and the names are in order of who is in the picture (left to right). Anyways, I thought I would share my favorite memory from each of the trips;

  1. Hälleviks Lägret- I’m eating my dinner in the cafeteria just like everyone els, but I was smiling so wide. I was overjoyed knowing I had a whole week left of camp even though we had already spent a week there. Dinner ends, and all the girls from my lodge walk back to our lodge, and sit on the door steps and talk. That’s when our camp leader comes out and joins us. The sun is up and bright even though it was 6:30 pm, and we were all in a good mood. All of us just sit and talk about life until the sun sets, and I was just so relaxed because that’s when I felt the most at home because the people around me made my world that day.
  2. Punta Ala- Maria Sole, Enriqa, Stella (Maria Sole’s sister), and I are just about to get onto the banana boat. We jump on, and start heading out towards the deeper part of the beach. As we go, I regret my decision because I thought I would fall (which I did), haha. We start going faster and then all of a sudden, all I could feel was the wind blowing through my hair, and the water splashing up against my legs. Then we make another turn, and the banana boat flips over. We all end up in the water, laughing so hard because we didn’t know how to get back up. In that moment, I realized how great friends I have because we laugh at the smallest things just to make them more entertaining.
  3. Mallorca- I have so many great memories that pop up in my head from this trip, but the one that stood out the most was from the last night. Alex, Elvis, and Alex’s dad (Anders) were in the convertible on the way to a restaurant. I sat in the front seat, and Alex and Elvis were in the back. We turn on the radio really loudly, and the song “Heartbeat Song” plays, and we all just get an energy boost, haha. Alex and Elvis decided to get sit on the car (if that makes any sense)… I will show an image just to demonstrate how it was like… We all just sing along to the music, and just scream out the lyrics out of happiness. I swear that in that moment, all that mattered in the world was us (cliché, I know). IMG_7226.jpg
  4. Ishigaki Island- I remember everything so clearly, and all the memories we created but the last night, was hands down the best. We got invited to a special backstage crew dinner by one of the G.O.s, so Hampus (Lina’s brother), Hugo (Ebba’s brother), Lina, Ebba, and I all join them. We finish up our dinner, and then we head to the dressing rooms to get ready for the fashion show that they had asked us to be in. We go out on the catwalk, and work our outfits better than ever. After the show, we go watch a little show that the G.O.s had put on, and get our photo taken with the members. We then talk all night with one of the G.O.s named Ally. We learned more about her, and about life. I think it was super nice to just have fun, and feel like we were a new person instead of feeling like everyone already knew us.
  5. Thailand- This was obviously the most recent trip, so the memories are the clearest. However, it took me a while to figure out which was my favorite. I of course loved the ceremonies, and there was one point that was amazing, that I just was so emotional about which I will share in another blogpost maybe, but the one I will tell you now is from the last day. We sat in the bus, and I was talking to Ms. Stephanie, and then Jiwoo interrupts by asking, “Gry! Do you wanna sing “Umbrella”? I hesitate but of course I say yes. We start singing, in the most unserious way ever, and then the chorus comes and everyone in the van joins in. We sing to a few songs, and I think we must’ve been super annoying to Jeanie, and Moo, but we had fun and that must count for something. I’ll show a really quick video of us singing a bit because I know a lot of the girls from the trip want to see (I put it up a pitch in imovie, haha).

Ski Trips 2k16

Happy belated Valentine’s Day! Hope you had a great time! Anyways, I kind of promised some people that this post would come up, haha ;-).

Basically, this Monday, all grades in Middle School travelled somewhere to ski. Our grade went to Zao (place up North of Japan), and we went there in 6th grade as well. Anyways, we had about seven chaperones, and they were all really fun so thats a pro of the trip. When we arrived on Monday, we changed into our skiing clothes and gear, and headed on to the slopes. I was on the advanced group with about nine more students the first day, and two teachers. We didn’t go to any black diamonds the first day, but we did have great skiing weather so it was quite fun. After we finished skiing, we went inside to the hotel, and relaxed a bit until dinner. I was put in a room with Jiwoo, Ja Yeon, Philippa, Isabella, Rina, Karen, and Lucie. We had so much fun just talking and getting to know each other better, since we couldn’t bring our phones we just talked.

After dinner, you could either night ski or chill inside. Ebba and I knew we were going to have time to ski later, so we stayed in and actually fell asleep in the room where everyone was hanging out. We woke up, and went to the Onsen (traditional bath in Japanese culture), and that is when we found out Izzy had fell on the slope and was on the way to the hospital. Fear filled my body because I wanted her to be alright. Luckily, she came back at about 11:00 pm, and Ms. Jewett knocked on the door to our room to let us know that Izzy was going to be alright. I was so worried for her after I heard what happened. Our whole room was overjoyed when she came back.

The next morning we skied the whole day. In the morning it was just Ebba, Nico, Mr. Chee, and I in the advanced group, and it was the most relaxing time because we could just kind of go in our pace, didn’t have to wait, and we didn’t need to squeeze everyone in one slope because we had space. However, after lunch, we had about 13 students and two teachers so it got a bit more crowded. After skiing we went inside, and ate dinner. There was no night skiing that night because the weather was so horrible, so instead we just all watched a movie, and then went to bed. Kind of relaxing actually. I think it was disappointing though that the weather was so horrible.

Last morning we woke up, and realized that this was our last day on the Middle School Ski Trip. It was also Philippa’s birthday, and not only this, but it was also Chae Young’s last day! When we had skied until lunch, then it was time to take the bus to the airport. We had about two hours before the flight left, so we ate dinner. I ate with Philippa, Ebba, Paulina, and Lucie. Then it was time to go to the gate. At the gate, I was talking to Ja Yeon, and we just had one of those deep talks and it was so wonderful to just connect like that. When we arrived to school again, the time was about 9:20 pm, and everyone started bursting into tears. We were all saying good bye to Chae Young, and I cannot explain how much I’ll miss her! I hope we stay in contact though. That was the end of the school trip, and then the next morning I was leaving to Hokkaido with my family, Ebba’s family, Lizzy’s family, and two other families.

We arrived at night, and all the families went to dinner together at the hotel. We talked about what happened on the ski trips since Lizzy was in another trip than Ebba and I because she is in seventh grade. We had a great time catching up, and then we went to the onsen together. Honestly, if you are ever in Japan, I recommend going to an onsen because it’s just amazing to see the culture of Japan. We then went to my hotel room and talked. The next two days, we just skied and ate dinner together at night. However, the last day of skiing, it was raining so we only skied until lunch, and then we went to the hotel. When we got to the hotel, Lizzy, and Fiona (a mother from another family) went to the onsen, and just talked and relaxed. That night all of the families ate a delicious last dinner together, and thanked Lena (Ebba’s mom) for organizing the dinners so wonderfully! All in all, it was two great ski trips, and I am so satisfied that I got the opportunity to spend them with people who I care about.

Valentine’s day is coming up! I know a lot of people want to go out with their significant other on this day. However, outfits are always hard because what can you wear to a date night. Here are three outfits that I thought would work.
Outfit #1:
This outfit has the Valentine’s day feel. I really like how the dress is red, but then the clutch and shoes are black. It feels as if they even each other out. I think this outfit would be great to a fancy restaurant, because it gives off an exclusive vibe. All in all, I really think this outfit is Valentine’s day-like.
Outfit #2:
Outfit #2 is a little different than your usual date night outfit. I was inspired by Ariana Grande with the pastel colors and white heels. I think this is a very cute look, and something I would wear to a date. I just can’t get over how cute the dress is, haha. I think it has such a nice color. Overall, super cute and different Valentine’s day outfit!
Outfit #3:
This outfit is a little more basic. You can never go wrong with a simple black dress. To make it a little more fancy, I added some red detailing to the outfit, so that there is a pop of colors. I think this outfit is a little more mature than the others, and I feel like it is a great look for a dinner with your S.O. In conclusion, this outfit may be a little more plain than the others, but it is a great dinner look.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading this, and maybe it inspired some of you guys for what you can wear. I am going to be on a ski trip with my family on Valentine’s day, so I don’t think I will be going on a date, haha. Anyways, hope you enjoyed today’s post.
XOXO,
G

Hey! So, one question that is almost on my mind when Winter turns into Spring, and that is; What can I wear so I am not too cold or warm? Well, as you can probably tell by my pictures above… That I was pretty coldly dressed for 46 degrees Fahrenheit, haha. However, I wore a blazer on top of this the whole day, I just took it off for the pictures. I think skirts are a great way to go, as long as you wear tights underneath, so that you won’t be cold. I have been doing this now for the past week, and I had a phase where I did this last year as well. I guess for me, skirts and dresses come and go, because I never find ones that I think I look good in, or it’s hard to find casual ones. However, I think a skirt and a casual shirt, is a great look that can never go wrong. I felt really formal with a blazer though, but it felt okay because I like being formal at times, haha. I have found a lot of times when I can use a blazer nowadays, because my style has changed so much since sixth grade. I think I have become much more formal, and simple in what I wear (not as much color). I used to wear Justice sweaters all the time, but now I kind of wear a lot of blouses. I guess I just simply changed. Another thing that’s new is my PHONE!!! I got it this Tuesday! I am so excited! It’s an iPhone 6s Rose-Gold, with a marble cover from H&M. I love this cover because I love marble so much. Anyways, I promise there is a great blogpost coming up this Monday! I hope you guys enjoy it:-)
