Picnic Do’s and Don’t’s

img_6037img_6038img_6040img_6036

Hey guys!

One thing I love about Sweden is how simple life can be when it comes to organizing what to do. Just grabbing a picnic and sitting in a park, and that is what I really miss here in Japan. Well, many countries have the easy accessibility to a park to have picnic by without tons of people there, so I thought I would share some ideas of what to bring, and Do’s and Don’t’s.

Picnic Favorites:

  • Sandwich
  • Pasta salad
  • Donut
  • Cookies
  • Juice box
  • Typical summer soda

Do’s and Don’t’s

  • Do bring your friends who you can talk to
  • Don’t forget a blanket
  • Do bring dessert
  • Don’t go to a park where there are lots of people
  • Do clean up after you
  • Don’t wear your fanciest clothes
  • Do relax and just talk a bit
  • Don’t go if it’s raining (obvious kind of)

Anyways, I hope you like some of my tips although they are quite obvious. Also, have a great day, and hope you go out for a picnic sometime.

XOXO,

How to Cure Being Homesick

Homesick? Well, here are some tips that have gotten me through my times when I miss Sweden or Italy.

  1. Facetime a friend from the place you miss- Sometimes, you just need to talk to someone from the place you miss to tell yourself that you’re still close, just not in distance
  2. SNAPCHAT- This is my saviour! I think this is the perfect way to keep in contact just to see what your friends are doing although you aren’t with them. My go-to app!
  3. Look through old pictures- Sometimes you need a little deja vu, and I do this just to brighten up my days.
  4. Express your feelings- Let the people you miss know that you miss them/appreciate them. Also, don’t be afraid to cry or take a day just to recover from the homesickness. When I just moved to Japan, there was one day when I couldn’t go to school since I missed Italy so bad.
  5. Find things you enjoy in place you’re in- Try to distract yourself by what is great about the place you’re in

These were just my tips that I could come up with, but I am sure there are so many more out there. We all go through a time when we are a little homesick, or miss a place or someone, but eventually you get through. Perseverance is everything.

First Day Of School

DSCF0161DSCF0168

Yes! Today was my first day of freshman year. Can you guys believe that I am in high school? I still feel like a 6th grader, haha… Anyways, today we had a day where we just went to our classes, and learned about what we were going to be studying this year. It seems like I will learn a lot. Tomorrow is first volleyball practice, which also seems exciting! I am going to run for class president, I think… I really think it could be entertaining and educational. I am so excited for the school year!

I was sitting on the plane on the way here, and my heart was beating so hard due to how nervous I was to start school again. Worried that I would have nobody. Furthermore, after making so many friends this Summer, it was hard to leave them all. I had such an amazing Summer so it felt like my world was tearing down when I had to leave it all behind. I am truly thankful for every second, and person that I spent my time with this summer! I will post better blogposts, but right now I am so jetlagged that I can barely think…

Thankfulness

Long time no see! Well, wrote… I am not sure what to say. So I was at camp like I said, and I am so frustrated that my Mallorca video still hasn’t uploaded one bit… My internet in Sweden sucks so please bare with me. I truly tried but it will be up when I get to Japan. I was going to write about camp, and all the experiences I had but it would take too long, and I think it’s best to keep some memories for myself. However, I thought about one word throughout the whole camp. Thankfulness.

Thankfulness is something that most people forget about on a day-to-day basis. I love to express my positive thoughts to people, because it can really brighten up their day, and it’s always fun to give compliments. However, one thing I realized that many people don’t say, is that they are thankful for something or someone. I think people take it for granted sometimes that life is a specific way. I have made the mistake before to take someone or something for granted, and that’s when it hurts the most to loose it. Therefore I just wanted to make a small little thank you note to get me back again with my blog.

Thank you to all the people who I feel comfortable enough to share my secrets with. Thank you for listening and giving me advice. Thanks for baring with me although I get frustrated, or sad. Thank you for not judging my so hastily. Thank you to you guys who read my blog although I’m not very good at this thing with writing blogposts, haha. All in all, thank the world for the opportunity I have to live.

Italy in a week

I am so sorry I missed yesterday’s post, and I have no excuse except that I travelled. So I am super sorry, but I’m hoping you’ll forgive me. So currently I am in Mallorca, since the trip got delayed we ended up leaving yesterday. I am so excited for what this week will bring. I won’t write too much today because I want to let the pictures speak for themselves. Hope you enjoy!

Always On The Road

IMG_5941IMG_5942

YO! Last time I posted, I was just back from Barcelona, and now I am just about to leave for Italy. Tomorrow, I will be leaving for Italy. Then on Saturday, I will leave for Mallorca with Alex!! I am so excited! Then I have one/two weeks in Stockholm, then I leave for Confirmation camp for three weeks. Then I only have three weeks of Summer left. I haven’t seen my dad for almost 1 and a half month… and I miss him so bad… He is still in Japan working, so I won’t see him for another 1 and a half month:-(

Another new thing is that I have started walking my neighbors dogs. I love them as if they were my own, which makes it even more entertaining to walk them. The only thing I do not enjoy is picking up their manure, but it’s worth it. I can’t wait until our family buys a dog again. I miss our little Chanel, but I think I am ready to buy another one since she will always be in my heart. Anyways, I have a huge headache, so I better go take a pill for it.

Airport Delay?

At the airport in Copenhagen, and to my surprise, the flight to Barcelona is delayed… Yay!! (Sarcasm) it was supposed to leave 4:45 but instead it leaves 8:15. We are overjoyed to have extra hours here at the airport (sarcasm again). Consequently, the delay of the flight means that I can’t upload my blogpost that I planned since I don’t have my computer with me as a carry-on. I hope you will be okay with this… I will tell you 3 activities I want to do when I am in Barcelona.

  1. Go to PortAventura
  2. Visit Catedral de Barcelona (La Sagrada)
  3. Visit National d’Art de Catalonge

These activities would be so entertaining and mind opening. I would love to do these things and much more, but I would completely understand if it’s not feasible to complete all this in just a weekend. I will be taking outfit pictures each night so by Monday I will have an outfit post with all my evening outfits I wore in Barcelona ( which might only be two due to the fact that it’s a weekend trip…) However, I’m truly sorry that this post didn’t work out, but hope that’s ok.

The Stables

Yesterday my mom, her friend, and her friends step child (my friend), went to a horse stable to ride with a group. We did this a few years back where we rode horses for 6 hours, and then we stayed the night at the place. However, this year we went riding for one hour and a half, and then we went to eat lunch together. I rode on the horse named Kingstone, he was really beautiful. It was so nice to finally get back on the horse.

Last time I went horseback riding was in 4th grade, so I missed it quite a lot. I have decided that I will get back into horseback riding in Japan. I just love the feeling of being able to just think about the horse and I when I ride. Forgetting everything else around me, and just being able to be with the horse. I remember when I went horseback riding in Italy, I had one horse that was my absolute favorite, Donkey Shot was his name. Donkey Shot was white with black spots. He was beautiful, and so amazing. He helped me when I was so afraid of galloping, but knowing I was riding him, helped me. All in all, I loved being able to meet my friend again, and spending time with horses.

Greenroom Festival ’16

IMG_5846IMG_5842IMG_5852IMG_5848IMG_5853

Hey! So, this Sunday, I went to the Greenroom Festival in Yokohama with Ebba. We took the train 9:06 in the morning, and arrived there at 12:34. The Greenroom Festival is basically a music, and arts festival which I had been looking forward to. I really love looking at art, and listening to different styles of music so I enjoyed it. Ebba and I really loved getting out of our little part of Japan so that we could spend one day without accidentally running into people, because sometime you just need some time alone. Sometimes it is a nice getaway. Anyways, I am not going to go into too much detail about the festival but here are some pictures:-)
