Picnic Do’s and Don’t’s

img_6037img_6038img_6040img_6036

Hey guys!

One thing I love about Sweden is how simple life can be when it comes to organizing what to do. Just grabbing a picnic and sitting in a park, and that is what I really miss here in Japan. Well, many countries have the easy accessibility to a park to have picnic by without tons of people there, so I thought I would share some ideas of what to bring, and Do’s and Don’t’s.

Picnic Favorites:

  • Sandwich
  • Pasta salad
  • Donut
  • Cookies
  • Juice box
  • Typical summer soda

Do’s and Don’t’s

  • Do bring your friends who you can talk to
  • Don’t forget a blanket
  • Do bring dessert
  • Don’t go to a park where there are lots of people
  • Do clean up after you
  • Don’t wear your fanciest clothes
  • Do relax and just talk a bit
  • Don’t go if it’s raining (obvious kind of)

Anyways, I hope you like some of my tips although they are quite obvious. Also, have a great day, and hope you go out for a picnic sometime.

XOXO,

G

Always On The Road

IMG_5941IMG_5942

YO! Last time I posted, I was just back from Barcelona, and now I am just about to leave for Italy. Tomorrow, I will be leaving for Italy. Then on Saturday, I will leave for Mallorca with Alex!! I am so excited! Then I have one/two weeks in Stockholm, then I leave for Confirmation camp for three weeks. Then I only have three weeks of Summer left. I haven’t seen my dad for almost 1 and a half month… and I miss him so bad… He is still in Japan working, so I won’t see him for another 1 and a half month:-(

Another new thing is that I have started walking my neighbors dogs. I love them as if they were my own, which makes it even more entertaining to walk them. The only thing I do not enjoy is picking up their manure, but it’s worth it. I can’t wait until our family buys a dog again. I miss our little Chanel, but I think I am ready to buy another one since she will always be in my heart. Anyways, I have a huge headache, so I better go take a pill for it.

The Stables

Yesterday my mom, her friend, and her friends step child (my friend), went to a horse stable to ride with a group. We did this a few years back where we rode horses for 6 hours, and then we stayed the night at the place. However, this year we went riding for one hour and a half, and then we went to eat lunch together. I rode on the horse named Kingstone, he was really beautiful. It was so nice to finally get back on the horse.

Last time I went horseback riding was in 4th grade, so I missed it quite a lot. I have decided that I will get back into horseback riding in Japan. I just love the feeling of being able to just think about the horse and I when I ride. Forgetting everything else around me, and just being able to be with the horse. I remember when I went horseback riding in Italy, I had one horse that was my absolute favorite, Donkey Shot was his name. Donkey Shot was white with black spots. He was beautiful, and so amazing. He helped me when I was so afraid of galloping, but knowing I was riding him, helped me. All in all, I loved being able to meet my friend again, and spending time with horses.

Summer Soon

Two more weeks till Summer VACAY!!! I’m excited! I hope everything will be as fun as I expect it to be! Haha, I actually learned to always have low expectations so I no longer get disappointed… I will be going to Sweden for most of the time, and then I still have to figure out what else to do. I am excited to see all my friends:-)

Today I have my drama performance, which means I will be less stressed so I can post more entertaining posts. I really feel bad for posting these horrible posts, but please let me know what kind of posts you want to see, because I am not sure what y’all like. Anyways, I need to go change for the performance. Wish me luck!

Greenroom Festival ’16

IMG_5846IMG_5842IMG_5852IMG_5848IMG_5853

Hey! So, this Sunday, I went to the Greenroom Festival in Yokohama with Ebba. We took the train 9:06 in the morning, and arrived there at 12:34. The Greenroom Festival is basically a music, and arts festival which I had been looking forward to. I really love looking at art, and listening to different styles of music so I enjoyed it. Ebba and I really loved getting out of our little part of Japan so that we could spend one day without accidentally running into people, because sometime you just need some time alone. Sometimes it is a nice getaway. Anyways, I am not going to go into too much detail about the festival but here are some pictures:-)

Young and Free

I was thinking about this the other day, but what does it mean to feel free? How do you feel free? How do become free? Well, to answer my own question, I think freedom is different depending on the person. I feel free different times than other people. I feel free when I run on the fields, or when I look at the environment, or when I laugh until I cry. A lot of people don’t feel free at those times, and some don’t feel free at all.

I don’t know why I felt like writing this, but these are the kind of thoughts that goes through my head when I am left to myself just to think and reflect. My Sweden and Italy travel post will be up soon, but I will probably be quite tired this week since I arrive in Japan and I’m going straight away to school which will be difficult (jet lag makes it hard). Anyways, I will post a new post on Thursday.

XOXO,

10 Books You NEED To Read

Okay, you may not know this about me, but I actually like reading… a lot. However, it has to be a great book which I can in some shape or form, relate to at least one character so I can learn. I find myself interested in a lot of books with a strong female lead, or at least involved in the book somewhere. I hope you guys like reading to, and if you don’t, maybe I can persuade you into liking reading if you read these 10 books.

  1. Not That Kind Of Girl by Lena Dunham- Great book with short stories from Lena Dunham’s life, and super inspirational.
  2. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky- You may have seen the movie, but the book is much better! The high school years of Charlie.
  3. Just Listen by Sarah Dessen- Such an amazing novel about a girl who never seems to get out her story, but meets a boy who always tells his story, and that can change her forever.
  4. Yes Please by Amy Poehler- Short stories from Amy’s life, and it is quite fascinating.
  5. I Hate Myselfie by Shane Dawson- Shane writes about how he grew up in high school, in a very comedic way.
  6. Looking For Alaska by John Green- Love the message of this book, and it is about a girl who loves mysteries so much that she becomes one.
  7. Grace’s Guide, The Art Of Pretending To Be A Grown Up by Grace Helbig- Hilarious guide about how to do many grown up things, and child ones.
  8. The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton- Amazing book about two gangs in a town in America, and seeing the perspective of a boy in one gang.
  9. Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer- Novel from a teenage girl’s perspective when the world suddenly shuts down.
  10. Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart- Near-future dystopian New York, where everything is determined through media, and the book is written in a 40 year-old man’s perspective.

I hope you all enjoy this list and that you actually try reading some of these because I truly enjoyed them.

Small Details

IMG_5352IMG_5353

This is the first new detail in my room. Yesterday Ebba and I finally attached it to my wall, but I am still not fully done with this wall. I think it is so inspirational and I love to wake up to it since it allows me to start my day off with a good vibe. I bought it from wallquotes.com, and I think it worked but it took two hours to put this up so I don’t think it was the easiest process. Anyways, I think this is a great new feature to my room.

IMG_5357IMG_5364

OMG! I was so excited for this feature! I added it right before writing this blog post, haha. I have been wanting to take a trip with my best friend alone for a while now, but I am not sure if my parents will allow me due to the fact that I am only turning 15 this year. Therefore, I decided that if I raise the money myself, maybe they could understand that I am responsible enough, haha. You can probably tell that there is a mix of different kind of money such as Thai, Chinese, Japanese, American, but I will convert it all into one currency in the end and hopefully, it can take me somewhere. Also, it kinda makes me feel motivated since I have something to look forward to!:-)

IMG_5361IMG_5363

Last addition to my room is this little fragrance thing which I do not remember what it is called specifically, haha. This is bought from Actus, and it is the Alphabet collection. There is no specific reason I chose the letter ‘A’ but I mean the smell was amazing! I think it smells like shampoo, which is a nice smell in my opinion. This gives a nice, fresh smell to my room and I think it looks classy as well. All in all, I am super satisfied with this, and I am excited for my room to smell like this.
